New Owl and Hedgehog Bookends

I’ve recently added a “somewhat” new bookend design to my Etsy shop.  It’s still in the Dena Happi Tree theme (because it’s just the cutest bedding set!), but this time with a newer owl design, and a cute little hedgehog.  This set features green with white polka dots, to represent the grass the hedgehog stands on, with a brown border for the owl, and of course lots of fun little flowers. You can purchase this set here, at my Etsy shop, or you can request a similar style if you would like this set done in colors suitable for a boy.  The owl...

Birdhouse Bookends

Spring is finally here, and it’s inspired me to create a new set of bookends!  I’ve seen some super cute bird houses on the internet and thought I would do a bookends set featuring some as well.  I used the Baby Steps – So Precious paper that I bought a while back and have been itching to use.  I love the floral pattern on it and thought it would be perfect for my birdhouses! I added a brightly colored bird to the front of each house, and painted a little tree branch onto each end.  I’ve been seeing these tiny flower punches eveywhere, and I...

Owl and Raccoon Forest Friends Bookends

This is my newest set of bookends inspired by the bedding set Carter’s Forest Friends.  These bookends feature a cute little owl and raccoon, which have each been done in brown, black and grey.  The bookends have been painted a soft green, with neutral grey edges. These bookends would go great in a woodland themed bedroom!  You can shop for them in my Etsy shop, and check out the other bookends I have available as well!  Like Crafty Canada on Facebook as well and see what other crafts I’ve been working...

Owls Sky Inspired Bookends

This is my latest set of owl bookends, which was inspired by the bedding set Owls Sky that I saw at RosenberryRooms.com.  The bedding set has been made for boys bedrooms, as well as nurseries.  They’re cute enough for the babies room, but the colors are mature looking enough for older kids as well! The owls have been done in greys, browns, and blues, and each bookend features a tree inspired from the bedding set as well.  The edges incorporate the green from the bedding too. This bookend set would be great in a nature themed bedroom, or woodland animals bedroom...

CoCaLo In The Woods Inspired Bookends

I created a custom set of bookends to go with my customer’s Cocalo In The Woods bedding.  It’s such a cute bedding set, and goes perfect with my owl themed bookends.  I decided to change up my owls a little though, to better match the owls on her nursery bedding. The set has been done in pinks, oranges, yellows, and browns.  I tried to incorporate the pink, yellow, and orange as best I could, but had trouble figuring out where I would put the brown.  Needless to say, I left the brown out.  I found the raspberry pink on the head of the owls hard to match...

Valentine’s Day Photo Blocks

I wanted to make a little something for Valentine’s Day, and I keep seeing these amazing photo blocks everywhere, so I had to try making a set for myself.  Mine are pretty basic, and the first photo set I’ve done, but I love how easy they are to make! I used some 2×4 wood that I cut into blocks, painted them with some brown acrylic paint, and mod podged my pre-cut photos onto them.  I did a little distressing around the edges of the wood before sticking on my pictures, and I used a rounded corner punch on my pics as well.  I bought a cheap rolling pin...

Owl and Butterfly Bookends

This is a brightly coloured custom set of bookends I made in pink, aqua, green, and lavender to match my customer’s  bedding set (unfortunately I don’t know the name of the set or where to purchase it).  I think it would go pretty well in any owl or butterfly themed room though that incorporates these colours.  The Baby Boom Owls In A Tree bedding set at Walmart would be a great match for this set.  Or coordinate these bookends with floral prints, stripes, or polka dots with the same colors.  There are so many cute kids bedding sets out there that they can...
