Lunch Bag and Backpack Key Tags

My boys are going back to school in a week (goodbye summer :() so I wanted to think of a project for that occasion.  I’m always keeping my eyes open in stores for cute things that can hang off the zippers on their backpacks or lunchboxes.  I thought, why not cut out shapes, use my Xyron machine to laminate them, and make key tags out of them! I used my Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and cut out the two little dino’s in blue, green and orange cardstock.  I put the laminating cartridge in my Xyron machine and ran them through.  Before cutting them out I...

Create Your Own Kids Room Wall Art

This is a quick idea for anyone looking to add some art to their child’s room.  Rather than going out from store to store searching for that perfect picture, why not create your own? I found these 4″ x 6″ frames at the dollar store for $5.00 each!  I loved the simple bright white color, which I thought would go great in a girl’s or boy’s room.  All I did from there was pick a couple of cute pictures from my Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, mount them on some pretty patterned paper, and add a few gems to each animal to finish them off....

Owl Birthday Theme Treat Bags

I created an owl birthday invitation a while back and thought I would do treat bag toppers to go with the theme.  I found some little bags at the dollar store that measured 4″W x 6″H, so I cut out a scalloped square from the Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge measuring 4″ square to fit the width of my goody bag.  This scalloped square was actually a frame so the centre was empty, therefore I had to cut another square at about 3.5″ to layer underneath the blue scalloped square frame.  If you don’t have access to the Accent Essentials...

New Handmade Birthday Card

This is another take on the thank-you card that I posted yesterday.  I had said that this layout would work as a birthday card, so I decided to give it a try!  I used lots of bright colors like green, orange, yellow, and blue.  I decided to gear it more towards a boy, so I added the little birthday snake from the Create A Critter Cricut cartridge.  There was also a cute little pig in there that would have been fun to use, but I thought the snake would work well for a boy. I also used my Plantin SchoolBook Cricut cartridge for the letters, but I think I made them a...

Thank-You Card

This new Thank-you card I created today was inspired from one I saw in the June/July Cricut magazine, found on page 97.  I though it would be a simple card that people could still create even if they didn’t have a Cricut machine or Cuttlebug. Although I used my Cricut to cut out the circles and letters, I did use my square punch as well.  I would have used a circle punch but I didn’t have one the same size as the square.  I found the square measured approximately 1 3/4″, which I didn’t have the same size in any of my circles.  It would be easy...

Sweet Safari Wall Hangings

I found these canvas boards in one of the local stores and thought they would be fun to decorate with some paint and paper.  I surfed the net a bit and found a cute girl’s bedding set at Target called the Tiddliwinks Sweet Safari collection.  It has lots of sweet little animals like giraffes, lions, turtles and more, in bright raspberry, lavender, and orange colors. I painted my two canvases in lavender and grey and decorated them with lavender, green, orange and brown papers.  I cut the shapes from my Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge, and mod podged them on,...
