Valentine’s Day Treat Bags

Here’s an example of the Valentine’s Day treat bags I’m making for my son’s class.  I bought some cellophane goody bags with hearts on them at the dollar store which measured 4″ wide by 4″ long.  This was perfect because it allowed me to cut out bags with my Cricut machine that were 12″ long by 4″ wide.  This way I could fit 3 on a 12″ x 12″ piece of cardstock. I ended up making my own paper bags using the basic shapes available in SCAL.  I used the rectangle and the heart, which was super easy.  I got my...

New Cricut Magazine and Button Punch

Today I received my Cricut magazine and my button punch in the mail.  They were ordered from different places, it just happened that they both showed up today.  Needless to say, I’m a very happy person! I love the Cricut Magazine.  In case you didn’t see my previous entry, you can go to Cricut.com and order their new magazine online.  I got a six month subscription and I think I’ll be very happy that I did!  The thing I’m liking about this magazine is that it isn’t just about cards, or layouts…it’s about everything you can do...

Wood Love Letters

Today’s inspiration was Valentine’s day.  I decided to try my hand at cutting out a new font style.  I ended up using the Script MT Bold font because I like that the “O” was open at the top and I wouldn’t have to use my other saw to cut out the center.  The letters are also a little wider than some which is good for preventing the wood from breaking. I painted the letters a soft pink then dabbed on a darker pink for a distressed look.  I used the same paper that I used in my previous post of the heart, as well as another Valentine’s...

Valentine’s Challenge

I created this Valentine’s door hanger for a challenge that Craft Edge has on right now.  It has to be in a Valentine’s theme, and you must use your SCAL program to do it.  For mine, I used the heart provided by the SCAL program in Basic Shapes.  I overlapped my black paper onto some pretty pink paper by the Anna Griffin line (it’s really sparkly!).  I used the French Script MT font for my lettering, and I found the lips in the Craft Edge forum provided by Craigg64 via clker.com.  Thanks so much by the way!  I then just added some sparkly pink gems...

Getting Into The Christmas Spirit!

Seeing as Christmas is only a few days away I thought I would do a few projects to honor the season.  I realized that I haven’t done much of anything this year in the way of Christmas crafts.  I didn’t even send cards out this year to family and friends!  Crafty Canada takes up most of my time, and everything else just got put on hold this year.  I’m still new at all this so perhaps my New Year’s Resolution will be to learn how to manage my time a little better! Anyways, today I got busy and did a few different projects.  I wanted to make a...

Christmas Goody Bags

I made some Christmas goody bags for my son to give to his grade 3 classmates.  I wish I would have done these sooner to put online, but for some reason I keep forgetting Christmas is next week already.  I thought the kids still had a week left of school!  I had actually started these last week, but got caught up doing some bookends, so….Nothing like leaving it to the last day! These goody bags are a similar idea to the Halloween bags I made.  I used some little baggies that I found at the dollar store, cardstock, butterfly clips, ribbon, and gems.  I used my...
