Witch Boot SVG

I received my October issue of the Cricut magazine yesterday.  I was so excited considering I thought my subscription was up!  I was even thumbing through the last issue I got a couple of days ago looking for Halloween ideas, but of course didn’t really find anything.  This issue has lots of cute ideas, so I was definitely inspired to make something! On page 20 they created a couple of pictures on canvas boards using the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge.  They did a hat on one,  and a witch’s boot on the other.  I don’t yet have this cartridge but I...

Thanksgiving Day Cricut Craft – Go...

I made this set of Gobble ‘Til Ya Wobble blocks using my Cricut machine today.  It was SO EASY to make.  It took me next to no time at all.  I think this is one of the easiest, and quickest, crafts I’ve made!  All I needed were three 7″ blocks made from two by four wood, which I had my husband cut for me.  This wood is very inexpensive, and you can even get it cut into smaller pieces at the hardware store for easy hauling home, if you don’t have a truck :). I gave each piece of wood a quick coat of brown paint.  I only did one coat because you...

Gourd Birdhouse

I just finished my cute gourd birdhouse, which is a perfect spring project!  This svg kit, which was bought at SVGCuts, was part of the Spring Birdhouse SVG Kit collection.  It was one of three different birdhouses, the other two being the classic house style, and the other a milk carton style.  All three are in one collection for $6.99! This birdhouse only took a couple of hours to make.  It could probably go quicker for some people, but I’m not the snappiest at paper crafting!  The svg’s are super easy to use because all the parts of the birdhouse have...

Valentine’s Day Treat Bags

Here’s an example of the Valentine’s Day treat bags I’m making for my son’s class.  I bought some cellophane goody bags with hearts on them at the dollar store which measured 4″ wide by 4″ long.  This was perfect because it allowed me to cut out bags with my Cricut machine that were 12″ long by 4″ wide.  This way I could fit 3 on a 12″ x 12″ piece of cardstock. I ended up making my own paper bags using the basic shapes available in SCAL.  I used the rectangle and the heart, which was super easy.  I got my...

Wood Love Letters

Today’s inspiration was Valentine’s day.  I decided to try my hand at cutting out a new font style.  I ended up using the Script MT Bold font because I like that the “O” was open at the top and I wouldn’t have to use my other saw to cut out the center.  The letters are also a little wider than some which is good for preventing the wood from breaking. I painted the letters a soft pink then dabbed on a darker pink for a distressed look.  I used the same paper that I used in my previous post of the heart, as well as another Valentine’s...

Valentine’s Challenge

I created this Valentine’s door hanger for a challenge that Craft Edge has on right now.  It has to be in a Valentine’s theme, and you must use your SCAL program to do it.  For mine, I used the heart provided by the SCAL program in Basic Shapes.  I overlapped my black paper onto some pretty pink paper by the Anna Griffin line (it’s really sparkly!).  I used the French Script MT font for my lettering, and I found the lips in the Craft Edge forum provided by Craigg64 via clker.com.  Thanks so much by the way!  I then just added some sparkly pink gems...
