I made this set of Gobble ‘Til Ya Wobble blocks using my Cricut machine today. It was SO EASY to make. It took me next to no time at all. I think this is one of the easiest, and quickest, crafts I’ve made! All I needed were three 7″ blocks made from two by four wood, which I had my husband cut for me. This wood is very inexpensive, and you can even get it cut into smaller pieces at the hardware store for easy hauling home, if you don’t have a truck :).
I gave each piece of wood a quick coat of brown paint. I only did one coat because you don’t really see the majority of the wood anyways. I then cut out three pieces of paper in different colors and mod podged them on. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters, which I mod podged on as well. I would suggest using a font that’s thicker. Sticking on these thin letters was the hardest part for me.
I then put a coat of mod podge over all the paper to seal it, and stuck the three pieces of wood together with some wood glue in between each. I forgot to put a varnish clear coat over it all, but it’s not a huge deal. And when your mod podge is dry, just wrap some ribbon of your choice around the whole works, and tie it at the top. I just did a knot (no bows), with some raffia tied into it.
If you don’t have a machine to cut out your letters you can simply go to the dollar store, or a craft store, and buy some stickered letters, or even rub on letters. I would still seal them though so they don’t start to lift off, that way your craft can be used for many Thanksgiving Day celebrations to come!
And incase anyone was wondering, I got the little TURKEY SVG from SVGCuts in their Autumn Elements selection. I wasn’t planning on putting anything there, but the space between the ‘Til and Ya looked a little big to me. I do like the turkey, but had I have known ahead of time I was going to be using it I would have made the space between the two words even bigger, because now it looks kind of cramped. Oh well, live and learn :). Happy Fall!
