Create Your Own Kids Room Wall Art

This is a quick idea for anyone looking to add some art to their child’s room.  Rather than going out from store to store searching for that perfect picture, why not create your own?

I found these 4″ x 6″ frames at the dollar store for $5.00 each!  I loved the simple bright white color, which I thought would go great in a girl’s or boy’s room.  All I did from there was pick a couple of cute pictures from my Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, mount them on some pretty patterned paper, and add a few gems to each animal to finish them off.  And voila!  Two super cute pictures ready to be hung.

The only thing I would do differently next time is pick flatter gems.  The ones I stuck on are quite round and stick out quite a bit.  I thought I wasn’t going to be able to get the backing onto the frames because of them, but I managed.  I’m lucky I didn’t break the glass actually.  So that’s just something to keep in mind if you decided to jazz up your pictures with gems!

There are lots of great cartridges out there with images suitable for boys too.  I know everything I make seems to be for girls, but dinos, dogs, or robots are some fun ideas for the little guys as well :).
