Love Laugh Pray Bookends

This is my latest idea I had for my bookends with blocks.  I wanted to put words on them that would be fitting for a little girl.  I came up with Sing, Dance, Play, Love, Laugh, Pray.  I did them in soft pink, purple, and green.  I added some pretty paper to the front of each block, as well as added some gems and a cute little flower. The bookends have been painted a light pink, and I sanded all the edges for distressing.  The words were done in a fun font to add a little whimsy to the blocks.  I think this set would be great in a girl’s room.  The words...

Sweet Baby Boy Card

I thought I would try my hand at one of the cards in the Cricut magazine that I got recently, so I decided to make the Sweet Baby Boy card found on page 22.  In the magazine they used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the stars, but I used the star from the Sure Cuts A Lot shapes box. I cut out two stars at 5 1/2″ in a light green, and two stars at 5″, one in polka dots, and one in white for the inside of my card.  I also cut out a smaller star at about 2″ in green with cream polka dots.  I inked around my outer star with Blue Sky distressing ink by...

Martha Stewart Punches

I thought I would treat myself to a couple of new punches today at Walmart.  I picked up the Embossed Pop Up Daisy, and the Monarch Butterfly, both by Martha Stewart.  I was especially excited about the daisy, until I got it home and realized I didn’t look the box good enough.  I thought it punched out the whole daisy, but it turns out it just punches out the petals so they pop up from the rest of the paper.  It’s still a neat idea for making cards and scrapbook layouts, but I was hoping I would be able to stick them onto other projects as well.  Also,...

Valentine’s Day Treat Bags

Here’s an example of the Valentine’s Day treat bags I’m making for my son’s class.  I bought some cellophane goody bags with hearts on them at the dollar store which measured 4″ wide by 4″ long.  This was perfect because it allowed me to cut out bags with my Cricut machine that were 12″ long by 4″ wide.  This way I could fit 3 on a 12″ x 12″ piece of cardstock. I ended up making my own paper bags using the basic shapes available in SCAL.  I used the rectangle and the heart, which was super easy.  I got my...

New Cricut Magazine and Button Punch

Today I received my Cricut magazine and my button punch in the mail.  They were ordered from different places, it just happened that they both showed up today.  Needless to say, I’m a very happy person! I love the Cricut Magazine.  In case you didn’t see my previous entry, you can go to Cricut.com and order their new magazine online.  I got a six month subscription and I think I’ll be very happy that I did!  The thing I’m liking about this magazine is that it isn’t just about cards, or layouts…it’s about everything you can do...
