The End of 2010

Well, 2010 is almost over.  It’s been an exciting year for me with the start of Crafty Canada.  I can’t say I ever really imagined myself having this website and selling my own crafts.  I enjoy doing it, and I have to thank my husband for all his support in the process.  Without him I never would have attempted to use the tools that I do now.  He laughs when he looks in our garage and sees all these woodworking tools…for me! I just wanted to say thank-you to my Crafty Canada viewers and customers.  I’m looking forward to creating more projects...

My Latest Owls

These are my newest set of owls that I finished today made with the Hoot N Holler Cricut cartridge.  They’re kind of funky looking with  their bright colors and mis-shaped eyes and bellies.  I added a bit of dimension to the wings by cutting them out of 1/8″ particle board and sticking them on to the existing wings.  I think they’re a bright and cheerful set, and would be a fun addition to a little girl’s room! I’ll be making book ends out of these owls and some other styles I have in mind soon.  Watch for those, as well as the unfinished...

Getting Into The Christmas Spirit!

Seeing as Christmas is only a few days away I thought I would do a few projects to honor the season.  I realized that I haven’t done much of anything this year in the way of Christmas crafts.  I didn’t even send cards out this year to family and friends!  Crafty Canada takes up most of my time, and everything else just got put on hold this year.  I’m still new at all this so perhaps my New Year’s Resolution will be to learn how to manage my time a little better! Anyways, today I got busy and did a few different projects.  I wanted to make a...

Christmas Goody Bags

I made some Christmas goody bags for my son to give to his grade 3 classmates.  I wish I would have done these sooner to put online, but for some reason I keep forgetting Christmas is next week already.  I thought the kids still had a week left of school!  I had actually started these last week, but got caught up doing some bookends, so….Nothing like leaving it to the last day! These goody bags are a similar idea to the Halloween bags I made.  I used some little baggies that I found at the dollar store, cardstock, butterfly clips, ribbon, and gems.  I used my...

New Unfinished Bookends Kit

I added a new unfinished bookends kit to my shop today.  This one is the same as the ABC 123 bookends I made, just the unfinished version.  This is a great kit for mod podging on paper, letters, words, or even photos.  The kit comes with two unfinished bookends and six unfinished blocks for $24.00 plus shipping.  I’m hoping to do a set soon using baby photos on one side, and my son’s birthdate, weight, and length on the other.  Or I’ll mix and match them.  I’ll put a photo up when I get that done to show as an example. Until then, if anyone is...
